Toronto – The Toronto International Film Festival announced:
We would like to reiterate how devastated we are by the shocking developments in the United States and again we would like to extend our heartfelt support to all those affected by this incomprehensible tragedy.
1. All first public screenings that were cancelled yesterday have been rescheduled. Tickets dated September 11, 2001 can be used for these rescheduled screenings. The updated schedule for the remainder of the Festival will be released this afternoon. Please check both websites: bell.ca/filmfest, and www.rogersic.com for updated information.
2. All cancelled Press and Industry screenings have been rescheduled. Updated information is available here on www.rogersic.com, and at various locations throughout the Festival.
3. All cancelled second public screenings will be screened on Sunday, September 17th. This schedule will be released at a later time. All tickets purchased for the originally scheduled screening will be honoured.
4. We have a comprehensive refund policy available at our Box Office, on our Official Website at www.bell.ca/filmfest and posted at various locations posted throughout the Festival. Tickets dated September 11, 2001 can be exchanged for another film if so desired, and subject to availability.
5. In keeping with the Festival’s decision to cancel all extra Festival events the following events are cancelled: all Red Carpet press lines at theatres, Closing Night Party (the film will be screened as scheduled), the Awards Brunch has been replaced by a Closing Press Conference.

Toronto – At this time, the Festival has decided:
1. The Festival screenings and Rogers Industry Centre events will resume tomorrow as scheduled.
2. The Festival’s official social function, Celluloid Celebration, is cancelled for tomorrow.
3. We are making an effort to reschedule the films cancelled today. Information will be posted on the Festival website at www.bell.ca/filmfest and at www.rogersic.com and at various other Festival venues and locations.
4. We are sensitive to security issues and are increasing security where appropriate.
5. Press Conferences will be updated on the board outside the Press Office, and on the UP TO THE MINUTE page, as they are rescheduled.

The remaining screenings for today have been cancelled. Both public and industry box offices are now closed and ticket sales have been suspended for the rest of the day. Please check here regularly for further updates.
PRESS ALERT September 11, 2001 - 12:30pm
Toronto - Due to the tragedy that is unfolding in the United States, at this time:
1. All extra Festival events have been cancelled for today including: Press Conferences; Rogers Industry Centre events; RIC workshops and sessions; Jean Pierre Lefebvre book launch and all Festival organized social events including lunches and dinners.
2. The Festival has arranged for trauma response team from Warren Shepell Consultants to assist Festival guests and staff at this difficult time. Please contact the Festival Operations Department for further information and locations for counselling services at 416-515-8487 or 416-515-2056.
3. We are working with our partner hotels to accommodate all guests who are now unable to leave the city.
The Festival will continue to update guests, patrons and media throughout the day. We expect to issue a further statement later today with respect to Festival activities.
